Fibromodulin is a ubiquitous protein that is most prominent in articular cartilage, tendon, and ligament. The human Fibromodulin gene maps to chromosome 1q32 and encodes a 376 amino acid protein. Function: Affects the rate of fibrils formation. May have a primary role in collagen fibrillogenesis. Subunit: Binds to type I and type II collagen (By similarity). Subcellular Location: Secreted, extracellular space, extracellular matrix. Post-translational modifications: Binds keratan sulfate chains. Similarity: Belongs to the small leucine-rich proteoglycan (SLRP) family. SLRP class II subfamily. Contains 11 LRR (leucine-rich) repeats. Contains 1 LRRNT domain. Paraformaldehyde-fixed, paraffin embedded (Rat brain); Antigen retrieval by boiling in sodium citrate buffer (pH6.0) for 15min; Block endogenous peroxidase by 3% hydrogen peroxide for 20 minutes; Blocking buffer (normal goat serum) at 37°C for 30min; Antibody incubation with (Fibromodulin) Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-12362R) at 1:400 overnight at 4°C, followed by operating according to SP Kit(Rabbit) (sp-0023) instructions and DAB staining.
